Winter Snow Activities

Posted on December 21, 2017

The heavy winter we were all anticipating has arrived and you may as well make the most of it. If you have to be stranded at home, why not have a little fun?

The kids have been off a few days of school already and they are itching for fun activities. There’s only so much sledding and snowman building one can take. We found two super fun activities that are bound to be a hit!

Snow painting
Get the kids out of the house and let them be creative. Grab a few spray bottles and fill each one with cold water (warm water will melt the snow!). Add several drops of food coloring to each bottle until the color is vibrant enough to appear on the snow. Secure the tops to each bottle and send the kids out to create masterpieces in the snow!

Snow Ice Cream
As long as it’s not yellow, who wouldn’t want to eat snow? Gather some clean snow in a large bowl, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract, and drizzle half a can of sweetened condensed milk over the snow. Stir until well combined and enjoy your snow ice cream! Hint: We try to make our ice cream in small batches so it doesn’t melt.
